So, our emotions are definitely connected to our thought life.Joyce Meyer teaches us what the bible says that God has a good plan for our life but in order to ever experience that plan, our mind must be completely renewed, and that means that we have to learn to think the way that God thinks and not think the way we’ve been taught to think in the past. According to Joyce Meyer,  I have to learn to believe what God says about me more than I believe what other people have said about me, and I can’t get my worth and value out of what other people think.

For example, twice this week at Joyce Meyer Ministries two different people have said to me in two different situations, “I just think you care too much about what people think.” The second time, I said, “you know what? I like myself and I like the fact that I care about people’s feelings and I like the fact that I don’t want to hurt people, so there! I like being me. It took me a long time to get nice and I’m not going to turn around now and go back and try to be mean.”

Joyce Meyer Online mentioned that there would have been a time when I would have agonized for days, “do I care too much about what people think? Nya-nya-nya. Nya-nya-nya-nya-nya.” See, the only reason why I can respond differently now is because I finally know who I am in Christ according to the word of God. Now, Ginger, I’m not going to even pretend to say that this is an overnight process or that it’s even necessarily an easy process but it is doable and if people will stick with it, if they’ll really become a student of the word of God…. -Joyce Meyer Ministries.

Joyce Meyer teaches us that just hearing a message every now and then is not going to fix your life; you have to really study the word. But if you will do that, in a very short period of time you can begin to turn that thinking around, and when the thinking is turned around, it will start to turn the emotions around. And, of course, in the midst of all that, we’re trusting God, we’re trusting the Holy Spirit, we’re asking him to touch us and do what only he can do in the deepest part of our spirit where those wounds are.

Joyce Meyer Ministries: So just speak… Because I think a lot of people have to deal with that at work.

According to Joyce Meyer, that’s why often we see people living immoral lives still functioning in a ministry gift and it’s so confusing to us, but God’s anointing won’t hook up with that gift for long if they don’t repent and turn from their evil ways. They may keep the gift, but they will even fall so far as to use that gift to serve the enemy. A man could conceivably be a wonderful worship leader, fall into immorality and sin and decline to the point where his music takes on such a worldly form that it glorifies the devil more than it glorifies God. Joyce Meyer asks, do we really think that the wonderful gifts that God has given us, he has given us to serve the enemy with it and not him? Our purpose is to glorify God and we need to use everything that’s in our hand to do that. What’s in our hand is the calling and the gifts that God has placed in us. It’s not too hard to figure out what you’re called to do; just ask yourself what you like and what you’re good at. I’m good at talking, so I talk.

You know what? It’s working out. I’m not good at singing so I don’t sing, at least not in public. I tried to learn to play a guitar because I wanted to lead worship and preach. My fingers were too short. I just couldn’t do it. Not only that I almost failed music in school. I didn’t care if it was a do, re, mi, fa, so, la, ti, do – I just wanted to open my mouth and say something. You know what? I can use my gift to preach and teach and help people and glorify God, but you know what? I could also go use it to become a corn flake salesman. I mean, I could still talk. I could still communicate because it’s a gift that I’ve had since I was a child. I can communicate in writing.

I can communicate on tv. I can communicate on tape. People sometimes come and they do tv with me and they just say: you amaze me – how do you stop these programs? You’re talking, you’re watching the clock. You stop these things right on the very second. It’s not anything that I try to do. It’s just a gift from God and I’m using that gift in the kingdom. Joyce Meyer Ministries tells us that  there are so many people who are trying to do something they are not gifted for just because they are busy all the time comparing themselves with somebody else.

God gives you the gifts that you have for his own glory, but the way you choose to use them is up to you. You won’t lose them. We hear all the time “use it or lose it”, well, if you use what you have, it’ll grow. A psychic may have been gifted and called as a prophet – a seer as they were called in the old testament.Joyce Meyer Online said that these people had the ability to see some things that hadn’t happened yet and to look at a person and know some things that they weren’t knowing in the natural, but they take those gifts and use them for the enemy and actually draw people away from god rather than drawing people to God. You know a lot of these so-called psychics are phonies. You call them up and they are reading off a script. I saw some guy sitting in Starbucks the other day and another guy was reading his palm. I thought: oh, you dumb thing, you.

Joyce Meyer Online: So, how do you try to not look like, “hey, I think I’m better than all of you,” — like the holier-than-thou thing, and yet not get into what they’re doing?

Joyce: How’s your prayer life? Oh, I’m doing so good! I tell you: I just love God. I get up every morning… You’re not stuck in the middle, you’re on your way out! You may be in the middle… …You’re at the other end. …Time after time.

John Bevere: I said: Lord, this one is bigger than me.

Joyce: We need to change our attitude.

Joyce Meyer: Welcome to “enjoying everyday life.” Thank you for spending this time with me today. When you see a need, do you tend to make excuses? Do you tend to avoid getting involved? One of the reasons why we do that is because it always costs us something when we get involved in meeting a need. It might cost some time, some effort or even some money. Sometimes we just get stuck in a rut of religiosity without realizing that true religion pure and undefiled, according to the bible, is to get busy meeting needs. I’m going to encourage you to make a decision to get rid of any “do not disturb me” signs that you might be wearing on your life. Enjoy this teaching from Birmingham, Alabama. The title of my message tonight is “do not disturb.” Most people today don’t want to be disturbed. We used to hang “do not disturb” signs on our hotel doors.

Now we hang them on our lives. Luke 10:30: Jesus, taking him up, replied, a certain man was going from Jerusalem down to Jericho and he fell among robbers, who stripped him of his clothes and belongings and beat him and went their way, [unconcerned] leaving him half dead, as it happened. v. 31: now by coincidence a certain priest was going down along that road and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. Joyce Meyer Ministries teaches us tells us that that would be sad for anybody but it was especially sad because he was supposed to be a spiritual leader. v. 32: a Levite — they were the priestly tribe — came down to the place and saw him, and he also passed by on the other side. v. 33: but a certain Samaritan, as he traveled along, came down to where he was; and when he saw the man, he was moved with pity and sympathy for him. V. 34: and he went to him, dressed his wounds, poured on them oil and wine, then he set him on his own beast and brought him to an inn and took care of him. V. 35: the next day he took out two denarii [two days’ wages] and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, take care of him and whatever more you spend, I myself will pay you that when I return. V. 36: which of these three do you think proved himself a neighbor to him who fell among the robbers?

Joyce Meyer Online:  he’d move me to another area where I would be around another group of people in that area, and then maybe three months later, move me to another area where I would be around those people.

Joyce Meyer Ministries tells us that whatever you have right now, don’t be miserable with it, don’t be so anxious to get to the next thing you believe God has for you that you don’t enjoy the journey. Learn how to enjoy where you’re at on the way to where you’re going. I didn’t do that and so I am qualified to tell you that you need to do it because it won’t make God move any faster if you’re miserable. Hello? Revelation! It will not get God to hurry because you’re miserable, full of self-pity, crying, depressed and negative. Matter of fact, if anything it will just put off your answer that much longer. Ten ways that change will not come: through struggle, through negativity, through trying to make things happen yourself apart from god – it’s called works of the flesh – frustration won’t bring change, bright ideas – don’t you love that?

If I can just leave this Joyce Meyerbook on the table open to this page, I’m going to color it in yellow and I believe that when my son sits there he’ll read that. Oh! I know what I’ll do, I’ll put little scripture papers under my husband’s pillow and when he wakes up in the morning he’ll think he’s had a visitation of God. Have you ever had any of those sudden flashes of bright ideas? You have to be careful about that stuff. That stuff that comes that suddenly, you better wait on that a little bit. That’s what the bible calls: digging empty wells that have no water in them, Jeremiah 2:13. Being mad at yourself, hating yourself, not liking yourself is not going to make you change any faster. You might as well just enjoy yourself where you’re at. Enjoy the glory you’re in because God does promise to change us, but he says how he’ll do it: from glory to glory, little by little, day after day.

Joyce Meyer says, just imagine – I thought this is a good example – just imagine the sun coming up in the morning. Gradually, little by little it overtakes the darkness until it reaches the fullness of daylight. If we just sat and watched it, it would seem like it takes forever, but as we go about our business and enjoy the day, it just happens. It’s amazing. Sometimes when I get up in the morning, it’s dark and I don’t just go to the window and just… You say: what do you do? I go make my coffee! When I come back: hey, it’s a little bit lighter. Then I go drink my coffee. I come back and wow, it’s a little bit lighter. Then I pray for a little bit and read something good. All of a sudden, it’s daylight and I’ve been enjoying myself while God’s got the sun overcoming the darkness. I believe there are so many things that God does in the universe that are signs to us of how other things function and operate. Why don’t we just have darkness and then, phtttt, light?

Joyce Meyer Online: It’s interesting how God will use us if we will just be open to letting him do that.

JOYCE MEYER SAID THAT LET’S DON’T FORGET THAT WHEN JESUS WAS BAPTIZED AND THE HOLY SPIRIT LANDED ON HIM, THE VERY NEXT THING THAT HAPPENED WAS HE WAS LED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT OUT INTO THE WILDERNESS TO BE TEMPTED OF THE DEVIL 40 DAYS AND 40 NIGHTS. HE DIDN’T GET LOST OUT THERE; HE WAS LED OUT THERE. LET’S DON’T FORGET THAT THERE WAS A SHORTER ROUTE BUT GOD LED THE ISRAELITES THE LONG, HARD WAY. HE DIDN’T HAVE TO LEAD THEM BY THE RED SEA. HE COULD HAVE LED THEM A DIFFERENT WAY, BUT NO, HE LED THEM RIGHT FLAT INTO THAT RED SEA. WHY DID HE DO THAT? ACCORDING TOJOYCE MEYER MINISTRIES, THE BIBLE SAYS THAT HE HAD TO LEAD THEM THE HARD WAY BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT YET READY FOR WAR. THEY WEREN’T READY YET TO FACE THEIR ENEMIES AND CONQUER THEIR ENEMIES.  HE WANTED TO GIVE THEM THE PROMISED LAND BUT THEY HAD TO POSSESS THE PROMISED LAND. YOU KNOW WHAT THE WORD “POSSESS” MEANS?  IT MEANS FIRST YOU HAVE TO DISPOSSESS THE CURRENT OCCUPANTS.

SO, THE PROMISED LAND WAS THEIRS BUT THEY HAD TO GO IN AND TAKE IT. THEY WERE GOING TO HAVE TO DRIVE OFF THE ENEMIES THAT WERE THERE BUT THEY WERE NOT READY FOR WAR SO GOD HAD TO LEAD THEM OUT INTO THE WILDERNESS AND AROUND AND AROUND THE DESERT, TEACHING THEM SOME THINGS. BELOVED, WE LEARN MORE IN OUR DIFFICULT TIMES THAN WE EVER DO IN OUR EASY TIMES. SOME OF JOYCE MEYER SAID THAT YOU DON’T REALIZE. WE GO TO SCHOOL TO GET AN EDUCATION BUT LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING, YOU GET A GREATER EDUCATION IN LIFE THAN YOU EVER GET IN A CLASSROOM. (applause)  WE HAVE TO LEARN HOW TO ENCOUNTER ALL KINDS OF PEOPLE. I WANT TO BE LIKE THE APOSTLE PAUL WHERE HE HAD A TIME WHERE HE SAID “EVERYBODY FORSOOK ME.” WHEN HE WAS ON TRIAL, EVERYBODY TURNED AGAINST HIM. HE SAID “NOBODY STOOD WITH ME BUT THE LORD STOOD BY MY SIDE” AND HE SAID “MAY THE LORD NOT HOLD IT AGAINST THEM. JUST FORGIVE THEM.” HOW AWESOME IS THAT? LET ME SHOW YOU THIS SCRIPTURE IN FIRST PETER THAT I THINK IS SO GOOD: FIRST PETER 4. JOYCE MEYER MINISTRIESTELLS US THAT THIS PARTICULAR SCRIPTURE REALLY COMFORTED ME IN TIMES WHEN I FELT LIKE I WAS NOT BEING TREATED RIGHT AND I WAS IN A SITUATION WHERE IT SEEMED LIKE THERE WAS NOTHING I COULD DO ABOUT IT.

THIS IS A MINISTRY WHO IS FEEDING AND TAKING CARE OF PEOPLE, CHANGING LIVES. EVEN THOUGH IT MAKES YOU FEEL GOOD AND YOU KNOW YOU’RE MAKING A DIFFERENCE, I EQUALLY LEFT WITH THE SAME FEELING THOUGH THAT THERE IS SO MUCH MORE TO DO. THERE IS POWER IN PARTNERSHIP. THERE IS POWER IN COVENANT. IT’S BIBLICAL. WHEN YOU ARE JOINED IN WITH SOMEBODY, NOT ONLY DO YOU HELP THEM, YOU ALSO GAIN THE SPIRITUAL BENEFITS, I BELIEVE, FROM WHAT THEY’RE DOING. WHERE WOULD ANY OF THEM BE? WHERE WOULD THOSE LITTLE KIDS BE WITHOUT THE PARTNERS? IF IT WEREN’T FOR PARTNERS GIVING LIKE THEY DO, I MIGHT NOT BE SITTING HERE TODAY LIKE I AM IF THEY HAD NOT EMPOWERED JOYCE MEYER TO SPREAD THE WORD AND MAKE IT AVAILABLE LIKE THEY HAVE. WHERE WOULD I BE WITHOUT THAT INFORMATION? WHERE WOULD I BE?

IT’S BETTER FOR ME TO GET MY CLOTHES OUT AT NIGHT AND GET THAT ALL SETTLED.  IF I KNOW I NEED TO BE AT THE TV STUDIO THE NEXT MORNING, DON’T WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT MORNING TO TRY TO DO ALL THAT BECAUSE IF YOU HAVE ONE LITTLE MISHAP, THEN YOU’RE GOING TO BE LATE.

(Don) WHAT I LEARNED IS WHEN I WAS THIS WAY, I WAS UNABLE TO WALK THE LOVE WALK BECAUSE LOVE IS PATIENT, LOVE IS KIND, LOVE IS NOT RUDE. I DIDN’T REALIZE IT BUT I WAS BEING IMPATIENT, I WASN’T BEING KIND. I DIDN’T HAVE TIME TO BE KIND. I WAS BEING RUDE.  SOMETIMES I’D CUT IN FRONT OF A LINE BECAUSE I’D MISS MY FLIGHT IF I DIDN’T.

I DIDN’T KNOW OTHER PEOPLE HAD THOSE PROBLEMS.

(Don) THE LORD HAD TO DEAL WITH ME AND HE SAID “YOU HAVE TO PLAN YOUR LIFE OR ELSE OTHER PEOPLE ARE GOING TO PLAN YOUR LIFE FOR YOU,” SO I HAD TO LITERALLY START SAYING…. I HAD TO ALLOW MYSELF TWO HOURS AND HEY, BIG DEAL IF I’M WALKING TO THE AIRPORT INSTEAD OF RUNNING THROUGH THE AIRPORT AND BEING RUDE, I CAN WALK THERE, I HAVE PLENTY OF TIME. I CAN STOP AND HAVE A CUP OF COFFEE, I CAN RELAX BEFORE THE FLIGHT, I CAN READ A BOOK. – JOYCE MEYER MINISTRIES.

(Mary) NOT TO MENTION THE CONVERSATION BETWEEN HE AND I GOING TO THE AIRPORT IS MUCH MORE PLEASANT NOW.

ACCORDING TO JOYCE MEYER MINISTRIES THAT I’LL BE HONEST WITH YOU, I DID WASTE A LOT OF MY LIFE BEING MISERABLE, NOT ENJOYING WHERE I WAS AT AND THAT’S ONE OF THE REASONS WHY I WROTE THE BOOK THAT’S ON MY TABLE, “ENJOYING WHERE YOU’RE AT ON THE WAY TO WHERE YOU’RE GOING”, BECAUSE I DON’T THINK A LOT OF PEOPLE KNOW HOW TO DO THAT. EVEN AS FAR AS YOU YOURSELF AND THE CHANGES THAT YOU’RE LOOKING FOR GOD TO MAKE IN YOU, IN YOUR PERSONALITY… HOW MANY OF YOU ARE BELIEVING GOD FOR CHANGE IN YOURSELF? YOU WANT A CHANGE?  OKAY.

(laughing) BUT IT’S FOOLISH NOT TO ENJOY YOURSELF RIGHT NOW WHILE GOD IS CHANGING YOU AND IT’S FOOLISH NOT TO ENJOY THE OTHER PEOPLE GOD HAS PLACED IN YOUR LIFE WHILE GOD IS CHANGING THEM.  SOME OF THOSE PEOPLE YOU THINK YOU SHOULD HAVE NEVER GOTTEN HOOKED UP WITH MAY BE MORE VALUABLE TO YOU THAN YOU REALIZE.
